There are a few points to consider:
- Ever increasing ethnically diverse communities.
- Baby boomers retiring within 10 years.
- Low percentage of librarians from Latino, Asian, African-American, Asian and Pacific Islander, American Indian heritage.
This is the time to take action. Before the baby boomers retire, we must recruit and train new librarians from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
